Payment Methods

Janbox provides 3 payment methods. When you are at the check-out stage, the payment methods are shown as below for you to select.

1. Debit/Credit card

Select Credit/Debit card on the “Payment method” section. You can make payments via VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Maestro. At the checkout screen, select the debit card type and enter information such as name, card number, expiration date Your card information is protected by SSL.

In the following cases, after Janbox determines the price and fee, we will notify you for payment:
  • You can use it to pay at both charge payment (for items' prices) or second charge (for auction and offer).
  • Additional fees.
* Terms and conditions:
  • Payment must be made in one time.
  • All fees will be listed by Japanese yen as well as the currency that you registered at the beginning.
  • The currency that you paid will be determined by the country of issue of your payment card. If that currency is incompatible with Janbox, we will charge your payment in US dollars.

2. Paypal

Select PayPal on the “Payment method” section PayPal will ask you to verify before making a transaction. After choosing PayPal as your payment method, please follow PayPal instructions to verify your transaction. Janbox will automatically deduct your PayPal account when you pay for an order or win an auction. 

* Note that, when paying via PayPal, you will be charged  4.4% of the amount to be paid. 

We will notify the customer to make the payment in the following cases (after Janbox determines the price and fee):
  • You can pay at both checkouts for buy, offer, and auction.
  • Additional fees.
* Terms and conditions:
  • If you are living in the US, your payment might be rejected if your city, state, postal code do not match.
  • If the country you registered at Janbox or the country of destination for your package is different from the country registered to your Paypal account, your payment via PayPal might be rejected.
  • All fees will be listed by Japanese yen as well as the currency that you registered at the beginning.
  • The currency that you paid will be determined by the country of issue of your PayPal. If that currency is incompatible with Janbox, we will charge your payment in US dollars.

3. Janbox wallet

Janbox wallet is Janbox's e-wallet. You use it to purchase items on Janbox. 

1 point = 1 JPY.

When you place bids on Yahoo Auction or offer on Mercari/Rakuma, the money that you bid/offer will be held automatically in your wallet. Please note that during the auction/make offer, the money will be on hold, and your money will not be deducted unless you win the auction or your offer is accepted by the seller.

* Terms and conditions:
  • J-Point wallet is just used for orders from Japan. US-Point wallet is just used for orders from the US. Vnd wallet is used for all orders. 
  • The balance in the Janbox wallet has no expiration date.
  • Payments will be calculated in the currency of the wallet type you set as default.
