Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User”, “Buyer”, or “Seller”) and Janbox (“Janbox”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) governing your access to and use of the Janbox platform, including all related services, features, and content.
By accessing, registering for, or using Janbox in any manner, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately discontinue use of the platform.
Janbox reserves the right to modify or update these Terms at any time, and such changes will become effective upon being published on this page. Continued use of the platform following any updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Nature of Services
Janbox provides a technology platform that enables cross-border commerce involving Japanese products. The platform operates under two primary service models: proxy shopping services and marketplace services.
Under the proxy shopping model, Janbox acts solely as a purchasing agent on behalf of users. When you place a proxy order, you authorize Janbox to purchase items from third-party sellers in Japan in your name and on your behalf. In this context, Janbox does not act as the seller of the goods, does not take ownership of the products for resale, and does not guarantee the quality, authenticity, or legality of items provided by third-party sellers.
Under the marketplace model, Janbox provides a platform that allows independent sellers to list and sell products directly to buyers. In such cases, the sales contract is formed directly between the buyer and the seller, and Janbox acts only as an intermediary providing platform infrastructure, payment facilitation, and logistics support where applicable. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, Janbox is not the merchant of record for marketplace transactions.
3. Eligibility
To use the Janbox platform, you must have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements under applicable law. This generally requires that you are at least 18 years of age or have reached the age of majority in your jurisdiction.
By using the platform, you represent and warrant that all information you provide is accurate, complete, and up to date. Janbox reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false or misleading information or that fail to meet eligibility requirements. In certain cases, Janbox may require identity verification or additional documentation to comply with legal or regulatory obligations.
4. Account Registration and Security
When creating an account on Janbox, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities conducted under your account. You agree to take reasonable measures to protect your account from unauthorized access.
If you suspect any unauthorized use of your account, you must notify Janbox immediately. Janbox shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to safeguard your account credentials or from unauthorized access that occurs due to your negligence.
Janbox reserves the right to suspend or restrict access to accounts that exhibit suspicious activity, including but not limited to unusual transaction patterns, suspected fraud, or violations of these Terms.
5. Orders and Transactions
When placing an order through Janbox, you agree that all orders are subject to acceptance and availability. Janbox reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order at its discretion, including in cases of pricing errors, suspected fraud, or regulatory concerns.
In the case of proxy shopping orders, once Janbox has completed the purchase on your behalf from a third-party seller, the order is generally considered final and cannot be canceled. This is because the transaction between Janbox (acting on your behalf) and the third-party seller has already been completed.
In marketplace transactions, orders are placed directly with sellers, and fulfillment is the responsibility of the seller. Janbox does not guarantee that sellers will fulfill orders without delay or error, although we may provide support in resolving disputes where appropriate.
6. Pricing, Fees, and Payment
All prices displayed on Janbox may include multiple components, such as the product price, service fees, domestic shipping fees within Japan, international shipping fees, and any applicable handling or processing charges. The exact breakdown of fees will be presented to you during the checkout process where possible.
You agree to pay all applicable charges associated with your transactions. Payments must be made using valid and authorized payment methods. Janbox reserves the right to reject or cancel transactions where payment cannot be successfully processed or where fraud is suspected.
Currency conversion may occur during transactions, and exchange rates may vary depending on payment providers or system calculations. You acknowledge and accept any differences arising from such conversions.
7. Warehouse and Storage Services
For proxy purchases, Janbox may provide warehouse storage services in Japan to facilitate consolidation and international shipping. Items stored in the warehouse are held on your behalf, and you retain ownership of such items once they have been successfully purchased.
Storage may be offered free of charge for a limited period, after which additional storage fees may apply. It is your responsibility to arrange for shipment of your items within the allowed storage period.
If items remain unclaimed or storage fees remain unpaid beyond a reasonable timeframe, Janbox reserves the right to classify such items as abandoned. In such cases, Janbox may dispose of, liquidate, or otherwise handle the items at its discretion without further liability to you.
8. Shipping and Delivery
Janbox arranges shipping through third-party logistics providers. While we strive to provide accurate delivery estimates, shipping times are not guaranteed and may be affected by factors beyond our control, including customs clearance, carrier delays, or external disruptions.
Risk of loss or damage to goods may transfer to you once the shipment is handed over to the carrier, depending on the shipping method selected. Janbox shall not be held liable for delays, losses, or damages caused by shipping carriers, unless otherwise required by applicable law or explicitly covered by insurance.
You are responsible for providing accurate shipping information. Any additional costs incurred due to incorrect or incomplete information may be charged to you.
9. Customs, Duties, and Compliance
International shipments may be subject to customs duties, taxes, and import regulations imposed by the destination country. You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable import laws and for paying any associated charges.
Janbox does not control or predict customs processes and shall not be liable for delays, additional fees, or confiscation of goods by customs authorities. You agree to provide accurate information for customs declarations and acknowledge that failure to do so may result in legal consequences.
10. Returns, Refunds, and Disputes
Due to the nature of cross-border commerce and proxy purchasing, returns and refunds are subject to limitations.
For proxy purchases, returns are generally not accepted once the item has been purchased from the third-party seller, unless the seller agrees to accept a return or the item is materially defective or incorrect. In such cases, Janbox may assist in communication but does not guarantee a successful resolution.
For marketplace purchases, return and refund policies are determined by individual sellers. Janbox may provide dispute resolution support; however, final decisions may depend on seller policies and available evidence.
To request a refund or file a dispute, you must provide sufficient evidence, such as photographs or videos, within a reasonable timeframe. Failure to provide adequate documentation may result in denial of your claim.
11. Prohibited Items
To comply with Japanese export regulations, international shipping laws, and carrier restrictions, users are strictly prohibited from purchasing, listing, or shipping certain categories of items through Janbox.
Users acknowledge and agree that it is their responsibility to ensure that any item they attempt to purchase or ship is permitted under applicable laws in Japan as well as in the destination country.
Janbox reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or suspend any transaction involving prohibited or restricted items at its sole discretion.

Users are responsible for verifying whether such items are permitted for import into their country.
11.4. Items Prohibited by Carriers or Destination Countries
In addition to Japanese export laws, items may be prohibited due to shipping carrier restrictions or destination country regulations.
These may include:
Cash, currency, and negotiable instruments
Precious metals, gemstones, and high-value items without proper declaration
Weapons, including knives, swords, tasers, and self-defense equipment
Gambling devices or materials
Items that are offensive, obscene, or illegal in the destination country
Janbox does not guarantee that an item permitted in Japan can be legally imported into another country.
